Disclosing and Reporting
Disclosing takes place when you tell someone about your experience of sexual or gender-based violence. By disclosing your experience you can get support if you need or want it. Disclosing can also be talking about or recording your experience.
If you want to take legal action against the person who causes you harm, you can report the incident to the police. The Saint Mary's Sexual Violence Advisor can assist you with this process. For more information about Reporting to the police, click here: Microsoft Word - Reporting to Police Flowchart Detailed.doc (learnridge.com)
If you want to report an experience of sexual violence to Saint Mary's, your starting point is the Sexual Violence Advisor who will: provide you with support, help explore your options and help with accessing additional services and supports, on Campus and in the Community.
