Spring session registration opens Tuesday 19th March. Come and learn about a May-June campus course taught by Dr Warner with a field trip to Toronto 10-15 June. McNally North 219 (seminar room) on Monday 18 March, 4pm.

Can you name 5 woman artists? That’s probably a challenge. And for good reason.
In 1971 an art historian asked: ‘Why have there been no great women artists?’ This course charts the history of women in the arts over the past 500 years such as Fontana, Gentileschi, Ruysch or Bonheur and examines how academies of art, galleries and art historians came to ignore or erase their contributions. With a focus on Europe, the course extends to women’s creative works around the globe and field trips to galleries and museums.
Program fee for field trip fee $452 includes double occupancy accommodation at U of T residence with breakfast and all museum entries, tours & workshops.

The Making Her Mark exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario features artwork from museums all around the world available in Canada during the exhibition in Toronto. We will meet with the curator of the AGO exhibition and have several opportunities over 4 days in June to see artworks we have studied in class and visit museums a short walk from the U of T campus. Sometimes for class in May and early June we will meet in downtown Halifax or around HRM to visit art galleries and museums.

Registration & Deposit: Spring session registration opens 19 March 2024. The program deposit for the field trip should be paid to Student Accounts at registration on Banner before 31 March 2024. Thursday 9 May 2024 is the last day for final payment of spring term tuition fees.

The field trip deposit will be refunded by the university if the course is cancelled after 15 April 2024, but not in case of withdrawal from the course.
