Registration
UPrep Course Registration and Deadlines
You can register for UPrep courses online using the registration form. Registration in a course is not guaranteed until the course is paid in full.
The deadline to register for 12-week courses is the end of the first week of the course. Similarly, the deadline to withdraw from 12-week courses and get a refund is the end of the first week.
The deadline to register for 6-week courses is the Thursday of the first week of the course. Similarly, the deadline to withdraw from 6-week courses and get a refund is the Thursday of the first week.
We reserve the right to postpone or cancel courses if minimum registration numbers are not met.
Please note that you must be at least 16 years of age to take a University Preparatory course.
Non-High School Graduates and Mature Learners
Students who have not graduated from high school or who have obtained a GED are encouraged to contact us directly to learn about the options available to them for studying at Saint Mary's University. Please contact uprep@smu.ca or book a Mature Student Advising appointment online.
Admission Advising
We offer admission advising to students who are unsure of the steps to take to meet their academic goals. Please book an appointment with a member of the Admissions Team to discuss the steps you need to take to gain admission.
Withdrawing from a UPrep Course
To withdraw from a UPrep course you must contact the University Preparatory office directly at uprep@smu.ca. Withdrawal requests must be received in writing. Please note refunds will only be given if the request is made within the timeframe noted above.
UPrep Transcripts
Requests for University Preparatory transcripts should be sent to uprep@smu.ca. When requesting a transcript please include the following information:
- Your full name as it appears on your SMU account
- Your SMU student ID (A#)
- Where you want the transcript sent. Note: transcripts are sent via email as electronic PDFs.
- When you need the transcript sent by. Please allow up to five business days for transcript requests to be processed.
Students who have applied to Saint Mary's University do not need to request a transcript be sent to the Admissions Office. We will automatically upload your results to your Saint Mary's application as soon as grades are available.
